Jacksonville Beach’s Go-To Commercial Muralist: Large-Scale Brand Murals on the First Coast

When I painted the Beach Bowl mural in Jacksonville Beach, I wasn’t just decorating a wall. I was planting a flag.

I split my time between Venice Beach, California and Jacksonville Beach, Florida — two iconic coastal communities that share more than just sand and surf. They both have deep creative cultures, thriving small business communities, and an appetite for authentic public art that makes their streets worth walking.

Jacksonville Beach and the surrounding First Coast communities — Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ponte Vedra, San Marco, Riverside, Five Points, and downtown Jacksonville — are experiencing a visual renaissance. New restaurants, breweries, surf shops, and boutiques are opening and competing for attention. And increasingly, the businesses that stand out are the ones with a hand-painted mural on their wall.

Why Jacksonville Beach Businesses Are Investing in Murals

Northeast Florida’s economy is booming, and the competition for foot traffic and social media visibility is real. A hand-painted mural does something no window sign or digital ad can do — it turns your building into a destination.

Think about it from the customer’s perspective. You’re walking down First Street or cruising Beach Boulevard, and suddenly there’s a 30-foot painted scene that stops you in your tracks. You take a photo. You tag the business. You post it. That one moment of authentic engagement is worth more than a month of Instagram ads.

For restaurants, bars, and hospitality businesses, a mural creates an Instagrammable backdrop that drives organic social media traffic. For retail shops and boutiques, it signals that this is a place that values creativity and community. For corporate offices and coworking spaces, a mural transforms a sterile environment into a space that inspires.

Services I Offer in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida

Brand Murals and Advertising. Large-scale exterior murals designed to promote your brand with the authenticity and visual impact that only hand-painted art can deliver. I work with national brands and local businesses alike.

Custom Exterior Murals. Whether it’s a beach scene for a surf shop, a bold graphic for a brewery, or a photorealistic product display, I design and paint custom murals tailored to your building, your brand, and your neighborhood.

Hand-Painted Signs and Lettering. Before vinyl and LED, every great business had a hand-painted sign. That tradition is making a comeback because it communicates craftsmanship and permanence. I create custom hand-painted signage, logos, and lettering for storefronts, restaurants, and commercial spaces.

Sculpture and Dimensional Art. Beyond flat surfaces, I create large-scale sculptural pieces — including a major T-Rex sculpture commission currently in progress for a Jacksonville Beach golf shop, carved and painted from a dried cypress log.

Public Art and Community Murals. I collaborate with municipalities, developers, and community organizations to create public art that tells a neighborhood’s story and builds civic pride.

Featured Jacksonville Beach Project: The Beach Bowl Mural

The Beach Bowl mural serves as my calling card on the First Coast — a large-scale exterior work that captures the energy and culture of Jacksonville Beach. Located in a high-traffic area, this mural has become a landmark and a popular photo spot for locals and visitors.

The project involved extensive surface preparation for the coastal salt-air environment, custom color mixing to achieve the right palette for the beachside setting, and protective UV and anti-graffiti coatings to ensure the mural holds up against Florida sun, humidity, and the occasional storm.

The Florida Advantage: Year-Round Mural Season

Unlike northern markets where mural painting shuts down for winter, Florida’s climate allows for year-round exterior painting. That means faster turnaround, more flexible scheduling, and no weather delays forcing your project into the next quarter. It also means your mural starts generating impressions immediately — there’s no off-season for foot traffic in a beach town.

However, Florida’s climate also demands expertise. UV exposure, salt air, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms are all factors that affect paint selection, surface prep, and protective coatings. With years of experience painting in coastal environments on both coasts, I know exactly how to build a mural that lasts in Florida conditions.
